WTJU snags THREE state broadcasting awards!

We’re pleased to report that WTJU won THREE trophies this year at the Virginia Association of Broadcasters conference. We won for:

Best Human Interest Series for “Arts on Grounds.” Special congratulations to our UVA student producers Chase Browning, Lona Manik, and Kirsten Hemrich for their excellent work, and to the UVA Arts Council for funding support! Listen to a sample and subscribe to the podcast.

Best Station Promo for “Car Donations: Cat.” The inimitable Don Harrison continues to work his award-winning magic. Listen here. Oh, and donate your old car to WTJU!

Outstanding News Series for “Pulitzer: the Future of Music” by Sarah McConnell and the With Good Reason team. WGR submitted this award through WTJU as its base station.
