WTJU and the Bridge PAI present a screening of “I’ll Sing For You” a film by Jacques Sarasin about the life of musician Boubacar “KarKar” Traoré.
In the sixties, the people of Mali awoke each morning to the sound of Boubacar “KarKar” Traoré’s voice on the radio, singing of independence. But KarKar, like his native country, fell on hard times. After being rediscovered in France, KarKar returns to his native Mali and tells his story in song. -Bridge PAI
The event takes place at the Bridge on November 16, runs from 7-9pm, and is free and open to the public.
