Lisa Mezzacappa stops by WTJU, Oct 15

Bassist, composer and UVA graduate Lisa Mezzacappa will stop by WTJU this Sunday morning, October 15, at 11 (edt) to talk about the concert that night with her group avantNOIR.  The band plays Lisa’s original compositions inspired by the detective novels of the 1920’s and 30’s, including Dashiell Hammet’s Maltese Falcon. Their new CD received 4 1/2 stars from Downbeat Magazine.
The concert, sponsored by WTJU and the Charlottesville Jazz Society, takes place that night at 7 pm at The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center. For more information visit cvillejazz.org.
