Listen to the Eastern Boundary Quartet Interview on WTJU
Michael Jefry Stevens – Balázs Bágyi – Joe Fonda
Prior to their Charlottesville performance on April 15, 2018, the Eastern Boundary Quartet, a collective of American and Hungarian musicians, sat down with WTJU announcer Russell Perry to discuss the upcoming performance. Pianist Michael Jefry Stevens, bassist Joe Fonda and drummer Balázs Bágyi reflected on their musical roots and the impact of Eastern European music on today’s jazz scene. The quartet also features multi-reed player Mihály Borbély.
Their visit to Charlottesville was sponsored by the Charlottesville Jazz Society, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and WTJU.
