   Notes: Son Rompe Pera announces their new album Marimbazos De Oro (Golden Marimba Hits), due out September 18 via Mixto Records. Produced by Grammy-nominated musician Adrian Quesada of the Black Pumas, the record offers a rare glimpse into the experiences and songs that shaped the acclaimed Mexican marimba-punk outfit before the world discovered them.
3. "Guyana" - ILAM - Acoustic Journey [Putumayo: 2026]
   Notes: Born in Dakar, Senegal, ILAM grew up speaking Pulaar, the language of his Fula people, before learning Wolof, the most widely spoken language in the city. He began his musical career in a local hip-hop group while training at Dakar’s national conservatory.
4. "FemtiFemti" - Sigrid Moldestad - Acoustic Journey [Putumayo: 2026]
   Notes: Sigrid Moldestad is one of Norway’s best-known folk singers, fiddlers, and songwriters celebrated for blending traditional and modern influences. A master of the Hardanger fiddle, a traditional Norwegian instrument resembling a violin with additional sympathetic strings, Moldestad brings new life to Norway’s rich folk music heritage with innovative compositions and heartfelt lyrics.
5. "DNA" - Biomania - Birds and Drones EP [Most Least: 2026]
   Notes: Biomania crafts an EP driven by emotion, tension, and cinematic scale. The goal is to evoke movement and reflection through paradox: the image of a bird sharing the sky with a machine of surveillance or war. This tension becomes both message and method, exploring how technological progress can elevate human expression while simultaneously threatening the natural world, a duality that lives inside the music itself.
6. "Whispering Canyon" - Red Spirit Singers - Land of the Sun [Toy Gun Murder: 2026]
   Notes: The Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation in Utah has the highest poverty rate among Utah's reservations, with 54.4% of families with children living below the poverty line. This is a significant disparity compared to the overall state of Utah, which has the second lowest poverty rate in the US, at 9.0. The second biggest reservation land-wise in the USA (with the Navajo being number one), the Ute only contain a population of around 3,000 people now. Their tribal name means “Land of the Sun.”
7. "Veterans Song" - Red Spirit Singers - Land of the Sun [Toy Gun Murder: 2026]
8. "Ever So Lonely/Eyes/Ocean" - Shelia Chandra - Echo [Real World: 2026]
   Notes: Echo is likely Sheila Chandra’s final album. A collection of live performances, the title loosely references the nymph of Greek myth who lost her voice – just as Chandra did 15 years ago. The album will be released on 25 September, via Real World Records, on LP and Digital. Digital release comes with six extra tracks. A shy and infrequent live performer in her time, and very much aware that so many of her fans were disappointed never to have seen her in concert, Chandra has put together this collection of recordings to give them a taste of what her breathtaking virtuoso solo voice performances were like.
9. "OurHome" - Rodrigo y Gabriela - OurHome [ATO: 2026]
   Notes: GRAMMY-winning guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have shared “OurHome,” the title track from their forthcoming album of the same name, due September 18th via ATO Records. Delicate, deeply expressive, and emotionally expansive, the instrumental composition offers the clearest expression of an album shaped by creative renewal in Japan and a rediscovery of what home ultimately means.

    Notes: An extraordinary international ensemble of GRAMMY® Award-winning and globally recognized musicians uniting distinctive voices in contemporary global, jazz, and Persian music.     Notes: “Spirit of Ararat” is a cinematic Armenian duduk composition inspired by Mount Ararat — a symbol of Armenian heritage and a sacred biblical mountain traditionally connected with Noah’s Ark. According to biblical tradition, after the Flood, Noah’s family began a new chapter of humanity from this legendary land. Through the deep and emotional sound of the Armenian duduk, the track reflects themes of ancient history, spirituality, hope, and the timeless spirit of the Armenian people.
12. "A Change of Perspective" - Bob Holroyd/Simon Painter - Close Up and Far Away [Real World X: 2026]
    Notes: Bob Holroyd and Simon Painter announce a new five-track EP called ‘Close Up and Far Away’ to be released on Real World X on 31 July, 2026. These five instrumental pieces are a reflection on mortality. Life experiences seem to stretch out into the distance, yet as you live through more of them, time seems to compress. The moment we are in right now is so fleeting and then it is gone, unattainably consigned to the past even though it happened just a second ago.
13. "Mas Que Ayer" - Tino Ashaw - single [Tino Ashaw: 2026]
    Notes: A Black Panamanian-American veteran making music from Puerto Rico. “Más Que Ayer (PR x Panamá)” is a Caribbean/world-fusion record built around the relationship between inherited home and chosen home. For listeners who appreciate culturally grounded crossover rather than a single fixed genre, I believe this is the right starting point.

A band already defined by a collision of cultures, Los Bitchos are taking their cross-continental spirit into new territory with an upcoming studio album set to feature collaborations with vocalists and guests for the first time. The first taste of the project arrives today with “Hang Up (Pt 2)”, which sees Los Bitchos join forces with Adrian Quesada and Sinkane.

    Notes: Latroit House Ensemble releases "Pearls (feat. Soweto Gospel Choir and Nomvula)," the latest from the upcoming full-length LP Classics, Vol. 1. The track is a reimagining of the timeless Sade song, reborn through collaboration with Soweto Gospel Choir and South African vocalist Nomvula Munnie (pron. nome-voo-lah), a human rights advocate and former president of the Trade Union for Musicians of South Africa.
18. "Un Dios hecho cenizas" - Pablo Jaurena - Fueyerias [iNB Musica: 2026]
    Notes: FUEYERÍAS is a collective celebration of the bandoneon, featuring 31 bandoneonists from 5 countries and 3 continents. Featuring great Argentine masters such as Néstor Marconi, Daniel Binelli, Víctor Lavallén, Lisandro Adrover, and Rodolfo Mederos alongside a new generation of musicians, the album fosters a dialogue between tradition and the future, reflecting the bandoneon’s enduring relevance and international reach. Pablo Jaurena is an Argentine bandoneonist, composer, and producer who has been nominated for three Latin Grammys.

    Notes: After performing at festivals such as Flow Fest and contributing his music to productions like VGLY and La Flor Más Bella, Kaiisito kicks off a new artistic chapter with MEXICANOTE, an album that finds the true meaning of success in daily effort. MEXICANOTE is accompanied by the lead single “Hijo De Obreros” and a documentary that completes the artist’s universe.

    Notes: Sitting at the heart of Melbourne’s burgeoning instrumental soul movement, Karate Boogaloo (Henry Jenkins, Hudson Whitlock, Callum Riley, and Darvid Thor) have been playing music together since their playground days. Meeting as high school preteens, these four friends explored the teachings of the great small combo instrumental bands à la Booker T & The MG’s and The Meters.
