By WTJU Rock

Date: 03/18/2023

Time: 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

WTJU Rock presents exciting new Central Virginia psych/folk/space-rock band, amminal, Saturday, March 18, 8 – 9 p.m. This free event is open to all at 2244 Ivy Rd. Masks are encouraged for the live audience. You can also listen on 91.1 FM, stream via wtju.net, and video stream on WTJU’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

amminal is a four-piece ensemble from Richmond, VA, that plays spacey, pastoral folk and psychedelic rock songs about witches, moths, sleep, and human nature.

Pippin Barnett (drums), Tom Brickman (upright and electric bass), Bryan Hoffa (synth, keys, electric guitar, banjo, vocals), and Phil Murphy (acoustic and electric guitar, keys, vocals) have been friends for over twenty years. They got together in 2021 to play some of Phil’s songs, and they continue to refine their mercurial sound, incorporating diverse elements from the folk music of the US and the British Isles, Turkish music, jazz, and any of the birds that sing outside of the garage where the band rehearses.
