Rum Cove’s 45 RPM Label History: Parkway Records

By Rum Cove

This series is designed to give you a visual representation of the many labels that The Rum Cove features on his long running Soulful Situation broadcast.

Parkway Records of Philadelphia was formed in 1958 as a subsidiary of Cameo Records. In the early 60s they had many dance hits with Chubby Checker, Dee Dee Sharp, and The Orlons. By 1967/1968 when this sleeve was used they hit financial problems as they had failed to update their sound and were sold to Beatles manager to be Allen Klein’s ABKCO organisation.
