Blending cumbia, mariachi, and Latin traditions with hip-hop, electronica, and global beats, Mexican Institute of Sound has become a cornerstone of Mexico’s modern music scene. ABOUT MERIDIAN BROTHERS - The brainchild of Bogotá-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Eblis Álvarez has been bending Colombian traditions into psychedelic, avant-garde soundscapes since 1998.

Rather than a traditional solo piano recording, the project is conceived as a collective, rhythm-driven exploration of the composer’s language. It brings together piano, Wurlitzer, double bass, marimba, berimbau, and an expanded percussion setup.

   Notes: Brazilian composer, guitarist and cultural producer Edson Natale returns with MANA, a new instrumental album for acoustic guitar and string orchestra. Natale performs guitar throughout, with all arrangements by Sergio Molina and all conducting by Cibelle Donza, alongside a 17-piece string orchestra assembled by celebrated cellist Adriana Holtz.

   Notes: The eighth Ancient Future LP is a collection of tributes to artists Ancient Future has historical connections with. 'Punjabi Jhinzaki' is a tribute to tabla master Ustad Zakir Hussain, who was very instrumental in the development of Ancient Future and appears on Ancient Future's World Without Walls release.
10. "Put the Bucket Down" - Peter Gabriel - o\i [Real World: 2026]
    Notes: With it’s shuffle-groove and infectiously catchy hook and chorus Put the Bucket Down conjures dream-like imagery of mind reading, thought reading and thought writing – all of which are possible through the brain / computer interface. The character singing is getting very confused.
11. "Bring the Food and Water" - Oman Bagpipe Singers - Songs of Returning and Leaving [Glitterbeat: 2026]
    Notes: On Oman’s southeastern coast, a remarkable musical tradition keeps history alive. In the Ash-Sharqiyah region, descendants of East Africans brought via the Indian Ocean slave trade preserve their heritage through Al-Mudema—sailor songs sung in Swahili and Arabic and accompanied by Omani bagpipes, sea conch shells, and percussion.

    Notes: Cecilia Villar Eljuri, born in Ecuador and raised in New York City – is among the most boldly outspoken Latin artists and social activists at work today, dedicating her music and her active touring schedule to enlisting new voter registration and encouraging awareness, personal empowerment, and political action in these turbulent times. Hailing summer, a breezy Eljuri original gets a remix by Colombian violinist/producer Montoya, bringing it a shimmering spatial dimensionality.

    Notes: Sobra Dance is eight tracks of thick, grooved-out Mali blues rooted in Mande tradition, announcing Gaoussou ‘Sobra’ Kouyate as a bandleader in his own right. The rhythm-driven album carries the listener through eight distinct compositions that draw on the deep kinship between Mande griot music, Mali blues, Rock, Afro Cuban styles and Congolse Rumba, all kept together by the guitarists good musical taste and techniques.

    Notes: Born in 1965 into one of Bamako’s most prominent griot lineages, Mah Damba carries the weight and the privilege of the djeliya — the art of the griot — in everything she does.
