   Notes: These songs, or Piconemas, had two names: the name in Spanish which was given by the music collector who had brought the record to Colombia, and the original song name given by the artist. These songs were known better in Colombia by their Spanish names. Playing with legibility, the Spanish name comes from trying to hear a word in Spanish in this non-Spanish language track. In this case welcome sounds like el hueco

   Notes: As a word, "Piconema" comes from two words: Pickup and Name. "Pickup", refering to the form of transporting massive ambulant sound systems for block parties known as Casetas or Verveanas, and "Name" for the practice of finding a sound in the song which might appear to be a Spanish word, and then naming that song. Caseta o Vervenas refers to the dance parties that would happen in street blocks, with temporary enclosures made of painted wood and roofing panel. These were called Salones Burreros during carnival times.
