Steve West, drummer of legendary rock band, Pavement, will join Baconfat on Fantastic Expedition to chat about the new documentary, Pavements, screening at the Virginia Film Festival, Saturday, Nov 2, at Culbreth Theater. Director Alex Ross Perry captures the story of one of the most important bands of the 90s, Pavement, blending elements of music biopic, Off-Broadway jukebox musical, and pop-up museum exhibition to create an alternate reality of the cult-favorite band’s past and present. . .The film and the band have a unique connection to Charlottesville; Pavement members Steven Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich met while students at the University of Virginia, where they were DJs for WTJU.
