Date: 10/23/2026
Time: 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Ladadas will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, October 23, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU. Made up of Blair Jones, Mary Gordon Hall, and Betty Jo Taylor, all with hard earned time on their hands, come together to create gorgeous three part harmonies.
This is a free event, open to all. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on our web player, and even video stream it at WTJU’s YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door. Do please note that you should not park in the lower lot by Shenandoah Joe and Pico Wraps as they enforce towing. You can check out the Offbeat Roadhouse schedule to see concerts past, present, and future.
Offbeat Roadhouse is supported by Plan 9 Music, now in their new expanded location at 188 Zan Road, in Charlottesville’s Seminole Square Shopping Center, and in Carytown, Richmond, or online at plan9music.com. Plan 9 – supporting the independent music community for over 40 years.
What do three friends and seasoned folksingers do after numerous decades of “9
to 5-ing”? Blair Jones, Betty Jo Taylor, and Mary Gordon Hall, all Virginia natives
residing in the Charlottesville, Virginia area, are a three part harmony acoustic
trio finally fulfilling lifelong dreams of being traveling troubadours. You’ll find
them out and about singing in house concerts and regional concert series, always
delighting you with original songs and their colorful harmonious versions of
carefully selected covers. They are pleased to release their first and new album,
Weaving a Chord.
Blair Logwood Jones has been living her musical dream as a composer, teacher,
director and performer in the Charlottesville area since 1980. Her original solo
albums, What’ll You Have and Newborn Child, reflect the positive spirituality and
love of storytelling which she shares with bandmates Mary Gordon Hall and Betty
Jo Taylor.
Betty Jo Taylor began singing harmony as a child in her hometown choir in
southern Virginia. She has continued singing throughout her life: in a trio in
college, the Sweet Adeline’s, a women’s barbershop harmony chorus, the
Richmond Symphony Chorus, and multiple bands in the Charlottesville area
throughout the years. Her love of singing harmony, especially with women’s
voices, brought her to the LaDaDas. Weaving a Chord is her first album.
Mary Gordon Hall began her songwriting career writing songs for children. Her
first album, I Just Can’t Eat My Peas, is enjoyed by kids and families around the
globe. Her passion for storytelling through song is evident in her first “grown up
album”, Wine Glasses & Wooden Spoons. Several of her compositions were
finalists in the Middle Atlantic Songwriting Contest. Her latest exciting musical
adventure is collaborating with Blair Jones and Betty Jo Taylor in the
harmonious trio, The LaDaDas, recently having released their first album,
Weaving a Chord.
