Sweet Afton at Offbeat Roadhouse, Apr 26

Sweet Afton will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse on Friday night, April 26, from 8-9 for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU.  Sure you could listen on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it, but concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience.

Offbeat Roadhouse takes place each Friday night from 8-9 (doors open at 7:30) from WTJU’s new performance venue, conveniently located at 2244 Ivy Road in Charlottesville (right next to Vivace Restaurant).  There is plenty of parking, so come on out to the roadhouse!

Guitars, fiddles, and four rapturous voices will spin you in a lulling, heartbreaking web. Comprised of Marie Borgman (Chamomile and Whiskey), Marina Madden (songwriter and accomplished traditional Irish singer/dancer), fiddler Hannah Pocock, and guitarist Phillip St Ours, this band may have been formed on the side, but stands on its own sturdy Appalachian folk legs. Due to their busy schedules in other bands, they don’t play out often, so catch them while you can!
