WTJU 91.1 FM

Saxophonist Greg Weaver (The Hard Modes, Cville Jazz Congregation) is deploying his special project ensemble, the Limit Break 4, for this year’s Jazz Marathon! With special guests including singer-songwriter Devon Sproule, percussionist Sam Cushman, and more, the core quartet—Pat Hayes (drums); Gabe Planas (keys); and Ryan Gilchrist (bass)—expands its ranks to feature new arrangements of music by Cuban nueva trova legend Silvio Rodríguez. Push past your boundaries with every passing note as together we elevate our consciousnesses and journey into jazz unknown!

This is a free event (but is part of the WTJU Jazz Marathon so donations are gladly accepted and encouraged), open to all. You can also listen on the radio (91.1 FM) or on our web player, and even video stream it at WTJU’s YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience.  WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace.  There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door. Do please note that you should not park in the lower lot by Shenandoah Joe and Pico Wraps as they enforce towing.
