WTJU is delighted to sponsor this year’s Heifetz Festival of Concerts Independence Day Celebration at James Monroe’s Highland. As a special treat, WTJU will preempt our regular 2-4pm programming this Monday July 4, to broadcast the entire event. You can listen locally at 91.1 FM, and streaming at wtju.net.
Celebrate the holiday with some fine fiddling and other music fit for the Glorious Fourth! The Heifetz musicians head over the mountain to Charlottesville for a free, patriotic outdoor picnic concert at the historic home of James Monroe, the nation’s fifth president (1817–1825), and last of the Virginia Founding Fathers. This is a free event. No tickets or advance reservations are required.
