By WTJU

Date: 02/27/2025

Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Gaye Adegbalola will join Wild Women and Friends host Sandy Snyder this Thursday morning to celebrate and honor Black History Month. Gaye is a Blues Music Award winner and a founding member of Saffire -The Uppity Blues Women (1984-2009). A former Virginia State Teacher of the Year, Gaye is also in demand for workshops and lectures. A long time activist, she continues to provide a voice for those who have been marginalized by society. By definition of her life’s work, she is indeed a griot. Gaye grows out of the tradition of those classic blues women of the 1920’s and 30s. Her show will visit some of those women and share their influence up to present day blues women.
