John D’earth flutters in to Jazz at 100 Now!, Oct 21

Free Bridge Quintet trumpeter John D’earth will join host Russell Perry between 9:00 – 10:30 AM on October 21 to talk about the UVa faculty jazz quintet’s concert scheduled for 8:00 PM at Cabell Hall on Saturday October 22. The concert , “Bird Song: The Music of Charlie Parker” is a belated celebration of the 100th anniversary of jazz master Charlie Parker’s birth.For 25 years, the Free Bridge Quintet, individually and collectively, has been at the center of the jazz scene in central Virginia and we are pleased to have Professor D’earth return to our airways. Most recently, two weeks ago, he participated in our successful Jazz and Blues Fundraising Marathon.
