Long Time WTJU Classical Announcer, Ann Shaffer, to Air Her Final Sunday Opera Matinee

After 43 remarkable years as volunteer WTJU Classical announcer, Ann Shaffer is retiring from the broadcast studio, not because she’s had enough of radio, but because she is moving out of the area.
Ann will be hosting her final Sunday Opera Matinee on September 20, bringing her radio career full circle by featuring the first opera she ever aired, Puccini’s Manon Lescaut.
Since joining WTJU in 1983, Ann has given our listeners something extraordinary: more than four decades of thoughtfully chosen music, shared with knowledge, warmth, and a deep love for the repertoire. Before hosting Sunday Opera Matinee, Ann hosted A Time for Singing for 30 years.
We are so grateful to Ann for her years of service to WTJU and wish her all the best in her new home-place. Make sure to tune in her final show this Sunday!
