WTJU Now Hiring for Richmond-based Underwriting/Marketing Specialist
Our expansion into the Ashland-Richmond area (WHAN) brings with it many new opportunities for us, including the chance to expand our staff! We’re currently seeking a part-time Underwriter/Marketing specialist.
Broadcasting from the University of Virginia since 1957, WTJU is an independent public radio station airing an eclectic mix of folk, jazz, blues, rock, classical, and public affairs. WTJU is looking for an energetic person to raise funds for and promote our recently acquired an AM/FM radio signal in the Richmond area. The successful applicant will excel at working independently, cultivating professional relationships, and promoting the mission of WTJU and public radio. The primary purpose of this position is to solicit and maintain business underwriting in the Richmond area, as well as to market and promote WTJU and organize occasional events in the Richmond area. This position is a 20 hour per week wage position, but could grow to full-time with successful fundraising.
