WTJU Interviews composer Rika Muranaka and producer ELove ahead of Omegacon
Omegacon, a local anime/gaming convention, will be taking place at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville this weekend, August 28-30.
We’ll have a more comprehensive piece exploring the convention in the coming weeks but you can hear Lewis Reining and Sage Tanguay interviewing Rika and ELove below.

Damien “ELove” Matthias will host a panel on “The Business of Music & Industry” on Saturday at 12pm at the Main Stage. Rika Muranaka will host her panel, called “Meeting Rika Muranaka, Composer of Silent Hill & Metal Gear Solid” on Saturday at 2pm, also on the Main Stage.

Rika Muranaka is a composer for Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!
As a teen she studied Jazz. Once she graduated from Northeastern Illinois University she returned to Japan and landed a contract with Columbia Records as a producer and artist. From there she used her skills as a composer, performer, and producer to give us the most amazing songs and art from Konami. –Omegacon website
Damien “ELove” Matthias
Damien “ELove” Matthias is an award-winning producer, writer, and director who has worked with the likes of LL Cool J, Tupac Shakur, John Forte, and Rick Rubin over a career spanning a quarter of a century. He was instrumental in devising Def Jam’s pre-internet marketing strategy, coordinating street teams with media and record store appearances for Def Jam artists’ tours.
ELove is currently co-founder and producer at a joint venture with Rika Muranaka called RND Entertainment Ltd., which is based in Tokyo and provides full content production and marketing services to clients in the motion picture, video game, and music industries. –Omegacon website;
