By WTJU

Date: 10/25/2024

Time: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Jordan Tice (Hawktail, David Rawlings Machine, Steve Martin) will stop by Sunset Road this Friday afternoon, going track by track through the brand new album ‘Wild Rose of Morning’ that he has just released together with mandolinist/bouzouki player/ vocalist Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse, Mighty Poplar, The Andrew Marlin Stringband) and fiddler Christian Sedelmyer (Jerry Douglas Band, 10 String Symphony). Sunset Road airs Friday afternoon from 4-6pm at 91.1FM and streaming at wtju.net.

Comprised of mostly very traditional tunes(some going back to the 1800s) and songs (with the exception of one song by Norman Blake and one by Leadbelly), this delightful album in one way marks a departure and yet at the same time fits well within the musical worlds of all three musicians, who bring their considerable musical and arranging skills to the project.

“ Three falls ago, we got together and recorded our take on some of our favorite traditional tunes from the Americas and the British Isles. Inspired by some of our favorite interpreters of folk songs (Andy Irvine and Paul Brady, Norman Blake and Doc Watson), we chose and arranged these selections for all of you to enjoy. Happy fall, y’all.”
