WTJU returns to VA Folklife Apprenticeship Showcase, May 5
WTJU is proud to once again be a media sponsor for the VA Folklife Apprenticeship Showcase, taking place at James Monroe’s Highand on Sunday afternoon, May 5, from 12 to 5 pm. We will broadcast the first two hours live (91.1 FM, and streaming at wtju.net/player), and then record interviews with some of the master artists and their apprentices for future airing.
Virginia’s folk masters and their apprentices will be here at Highland for a celebration of traditional music, food, and crafts. The festival will feature the graduating class of masters and apprentices and welcome in the new class, plus many Virginia Folklife apprenticeship program alumni. This event is FREE and open to the public.
