Welcome Sharel Cassity on Jazz at 100 Now!

WTJU welcomes saxophonist Sharel Cassity as an Associate Professor and Director of Jazz Performance in the UVa Department of Music. Ms. Cassity, an accomplished player/composer/bandleader, was recognized by Down Beat Magazine as the 2023 Rising Star Alto Saxophone Player. She will be joining Russell Perry on Jazz at 100 Now! in the second hour of the program on Tuesday September 2 at 10AM, to talk about her music and plans at UVa. The program will feature music from a dozen or so discs from her lengthy discography.
Jazz at 100! airs Tuesday mornings from 9 until noon at 91.1FM and online at wtju.net.
