Soul Jam act The Runawayz will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, September 15, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU.

This is a free event, open to all. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel.  But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience.

Offbeat Roadhouse is supported locally by Ting – Bringing light-speed internet to homes and businesses.


The Runawayz is a Soul Jam band based out of Charlottesville, VA. Primarily, the group plays a mix of familiar covers from Bill Withers, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and The Isley Brothers with modern arrangements and a pop/rock sensibility. The group is a crowd pleaser at Central, VA venues such as Common House, The Whiskey Jar, North Street Press Club, and Pro Re Nata Brewery. The group is currently writing their first EP with a focus on fun rock/jazz instrumentals and danceable grooves.

Frontman Trevor Peach leads on vocals and guitar with VCU Jazz alumni, Danny Schultheis on bass and, long-time church music director Eric Johnson on drums. For larger events, the group adds keys and saxophone players from the likes of Charles Owens, George Maddox, Zack Cross,
