The Highway Department at Offbeat Roadhouse
Time: 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Highway Department, featuring Doug Bishop and David Jacobs, will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday, January 13, from 8-9pm. The Highway Department is a new duo featuring singer/songwriter Doug Bishop and drummer David Jacobs. Doug’s songwriting coupled with David’s percussion really gives their show extraordinary soul and nuance. Both David and Doug have been performing in the Charlottesville “scene” for many years. Formerly band mates in the trio, Bobblehead, they have formed a tight and wonderfully eclectic mix of sounds. Drawing on influences as diverse as Cole Porter on the one end and Big Star on the other. These guys are seasoned musicians.
This is a free event, open to all. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.
