Offstage On-Air Holiday Music

Offstage, On-Air is a weekly show highlighting central Virginia’s vibrant classical music community. Each week you’ll hear conversations with local classical musicians, learn about upcoming concerts, and enjoy artist-curated playlists. Tune in Sunday from noon to 1:00pm here on WTJU (91.1 FM and streaming at wtju.net). This week, Brian Simalchik will host a special program of holiday favorites, as chosen by Charlottesville-area classical musicians.
Brian asked local classical musicians to choose their quintessential Christmas or holiday piece. He’ll play the pieces they chose on air and read a little bit about why they chose their respective works.
Musicians will include Michael Slon (Oratorio Society of Virginia, UVA University Singers), David McCormick (Early Music Access Project, Early Music America), Miriam Gordon-Stewart (Victory Hall Opera), Fiona Hughes (Three Notch’d Road), Peter Wilson (Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra) and others.
