Joachim Cooder goes track by track through “Over That Road I’m Bound”, April 2

Joachim Cooder will join Sunset Road this Friday, April 2nd, at 4 pm US Eastern time, to go track-by-track through his latest album ‘Over that road I’m Bound’, a wonderful, unique and intriguing reimagining of songs from the catalog of country music icon Uncle Dave Macon. Joachim’s previous work includes playing percussion on the phenomenal world music recording and subsequent Wim Wenders directed movie ‘Buena Vista Social Club’. On his latest album, which includes, amongst others, his father Ry Cooder, old time fiddler Rayna Gellert, and Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré, Joachim is featured on lead vocals and electric mbira.

Sunset Road is heard Friday afternoon from 4-6 eastern at 91.1 FM, streaming at wtju.net, or by asking your smart speaker to “Play WTJU.”
