John Doyle & Mick McAuley at The Stage
Time: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Irish music legends John Doyle and Mick McAuley will stop by WTJU Tuesday evening, December 12, for a special hourlong visit. WTJU is delighted to join our friends at the Blue Ridge Irish Music in presenting them in concert the following evening at Potter’s Craft Cider.
This is a free event, open to all. You can also listen on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. But we encourage you to come out and be part of the studio audience for this very special session.
One of the founding members of the groundbreaking band Solas, John Doyle is considered one the greatest guitarist in Irish music today. He is also a superb singer and songwriter who has collaborated and produced albums for countless musicians including Eileen Ivers, Liz Carroll, Joan Baez, Martin Hayes and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Multi-instrumentalist Mick McAuley (button accordion, tin whistle, singer) has also been a long-standing member of Solas and has performed and recorded with countless other artists.
