Guitarist Jordan Perry Previews New Album on Radio Freedonia

Date: 06/03/2023

Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Get a sneak peak at Jordan Perry‘s forthcoming record, What Do You See Every Day?, during an interview and album preview on Radio Freedonia, Saturday, June 3, 2 – 4 p.m. on 91.1 FM or streaming at The album, recorded at home and at the Music Resource Center, is due to be released on June 16, and features Jordan Perry on guitars, melodica, fiddle, vocals, and noises, Diane Cluck and Devon Sproule on vocals, and Ned Oldham on guitar.

Jordan’s radio appearance follows a live performance with Ned Oldham on Friday Night, June 2, at The Garage in downtown Charlottesville, beginning at 7:00pm.

Mr. Perry has a firm and solid touch to his string wrangling, but unlike many of his contemporaries, he doesn’t seem to feel compelled to resolve all the melodic questions he raises. Perry often stops in a place he finds interesting, repeating rhythmic figures while trying out variations on the note/chord sequence that stopped him in the first place. It’s a goddamn fascinating approach and allows him to explore textual aspects of the acoustic guitar that are not investigated often enough.
