Films on Song at The Stage, August 6

Charlottesville’s own post punk band, Films on Song, will stop by WTJU for a special one hour concert on Saturday, August 6, from 8-9pm. This is a free event, open to all. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. You can also listen on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.

Charlottesville natives Films on Song are a post punk band offering up slightly dreamy, slightly shoegaze-y, and always catchy pop songs inspired by various indie legends. The band was founded by Jonathan Teeter and Francis Mckee who found each other via Craigslist in 2019, Both expressed a similar dedication to music that was off kilter to what you might hear around the area. Ever since then, the band have been writing and performing music to people hungry for something different. The band is currently a 5 piece with Max Bollinger on drums, Erin O on bass, and Carolyn Duren on keys. The live sound is big and textural with all sorts of trips thru the various EPs, singles, and the upcoming album which begins production in September.
