John D’Earth talks about the Free Bridge Quintet getting down to business, April 8
John D’Dearth will stop by WTJU this Friday morning, April 8, around 10 to share the wonderful news of the Free Bridge Quintet’s return. After a two year pandemic hiatus, the band is getting back together for concerts at Old Cabell Hall on both April 8 and 9 as part of the UVA Mini-JazzFest: Jazz on the Fly! series. On the first night, the quintet will introduce pianist Calvin Brown, as well as be joined by faculty members Mike Rozensky on guitar and trombonist Nate Lee. The following night the members will celebrate Contingencies and Resiliences.
