Episode 7 of Heifetz on Air presents “The Classical Style”

Date: 02/19/2023

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This Sunday’s episode of Heifetz on Air will explore “The Classical Style,” with concertos, quartets, sonatas and more, performed both live on stage and in extraordinary virtual performances. The Classical Style has been called “the perfect integration of melody, harmony, rhythm, and texture…” exemplified by the works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.

Each week, “Heifetz On Air” presents captivating performances by Heifetz International Music Institute students, alums, and faculty — recorded on stage in Staunton and in WTJU’s Charlottesville studios. The show is hosted by Benjamin K. Roe, president and CEO of Heifetz Institute and longtime veteran of public radio classical programming.

Based in Staunton, VA, the Heifetz International Music Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to the artistic growth and career development of the most talented and promising young musicians in the world.
