Dean Dixon: All American I

By Ralph Graves

This Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 9:00 am, Analog Masters turns the spotlight on Black conductor Dean Dixon. Dixon paved the way for a generation of black conductors from Henry Lewis to Paul Freeman to James DePreist. Here he leads a Viennese orchestra in three great American scores: Chanticleer by Daniel Gregory Mason plus symphonies by Robert Ward and Randall Thompson.
