Day is Come for John Doyle on WTJU, January 21
John Doyle, arguably the finest guitarist in Irish traditional music, and an equally fine singer and songwriter, will be calling into Sunset Road this Friday, January 21, to go track by track through the brand new album by The Alt, ‘Day is Come’. John co-founded The Alt with flute player Nuala Kennedy and bouzouki player and guitarist Eamon O’Leary, to explore their mutual passion for traditional Irish songs and singing. The new CD, “a 10-track affair of very, very fine vocal (and some instrumental) music that builds on the superiority of their (2014) debut (album)” (The Irish Echo), will be officially released on Under the Arch Records on February 3.
Sunset Road airs Fridays on WTJU from 4-6pm Eastern, locally on the radio in central Virginia at 91.1fm and streaming at wtju.net.
