Don’t miss a special tribute to the late, great Dave Grant on Thursday afternoon, February 4, as part of this year’s WTJU Folk Marathon. A showcase of recordings that reflects the enduring legacy of the deeply creative and original musician and late WTJU host Dave Grant, and his diverse musical interests and playing styles from Appalachian old-time to world musics. Featured will be recordings of music with Grant playing or producing which explore his work with musicians such as Peter Rowan, Tim O’Brien, Mike Seeger, Dirk Powell, David Nelson from the New Riders of the Purple Sage, and many more of the era’s great roots musicians. The show will preferably feature interviews with, and in-studio performances by, an assembly of musicians he frequently performed with, such as Chris Leva, James Leva, Jeff Saine, Vaughn Mairs, Tim “T.A.” Anderson, Charlie Pastorfield, John Doyle, Dave & Mary Winston, Bruce Molsky, Al Tharp, etc…
