We’re having a block party!

By Nathan Moore

On September 19, from 4-9pm, WTJU will be having a block party and record sale. Join us at Ix Art Park for fall festivities, good music, good company, and most of all, a good time! The Ix Art Park is located at 955 2nd Street SE – between Monticello and Elliot Avenues.

We’re unloading some CDs and records we don’t need anymore for $1 a disc. And we’re selling our surplus of old WTJU t-shirts for $5 each or 5 for $20.

We’re also holding a silent auction for some incredible, one-of-a-kind items: a huge whale tail sculpture by local artist Tom Givens, dinner at Blue Light Grill or Ten and a show at The Jefferson, a cigar box mandolin, and more. Bid early at https://wtju.betterworldcollective.com/.

Oh, and live music! Yo Mama’s Brass Band is headlining our block party starting at 7:30pm, with several other bands playing earlier in the afternoon.

Plus beer, soft drinks, food trucks, lawn games, and a Dunk-A-DJ dunk tank. You have every reason to join us at Ix Art Park, 955 2nd Street SE, on Friday, September 19, from 4-9pm. It’s going to be a hootenanny!
