By WTJU
Date: 03/22/2023
Time: 7:30 pm
Charlottesville Jazz Society and WTJU are pleased to welcome guitarist Charlie Ballantine and his trio to Charlottesville for the first time. The trio will perform at Belmont Arts Collaborative (221 Carlton Road, Suite 4).
All About Jazz says “jazz, rock and folk music peacefully coexist in Charlie Ballantine’s world.” Ballantine has released many acclaimed albums as a leader, including “Life is Brief: The Music of Bob Dylan,” “Vonnegut” (original compositions inspired by the writings of fellow mid-westerner Kurt Vonnegut), and “Reflections,” featuring Charlie’s interpretations of Thelonious Monk classics.
The band will be performing selections from these and other albums, including their latest, “Falling Grace.” The trio includes Quinn Sternberg on bass and Richard Sleepy Floyd on drums.
Tickets to see The Charlie Ballantine Trio Wednesday March 22nd at Belmont Arts Collaborative are available online at CJS.ticketbud.com.
