By WTJU

wtju · Ann Savoy explores her Cajun Interviews Collection on WTJU (March 25, 2021)

Ann Savoy (Magnolia Sisters, Savoy Family Band, Savoy Doucet Cajun Band) will stop by WTJU Thursday afternoon, March 25, at 4:30 (est) to share some recordings from her Cajun Interviews Collection; a series of recordings Ann has done going back to the 1970s.  The Arhoolie Foundation awarded a grant to Ann’s son, Joel Savoy, and Mollie Farr a few years ago to digitize and edit the archive of interviews and field recordings Ann had done as part of her research for her books, Cajun Music: A Reflection of a People Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

Folk & Beyond, hosted by WTJU Folk Director Peter Jones, is heard Thursday afternoon from 4-7 pm (est) at 91.1 FM, streaming at wtju.net, or by asking your smart speaker to “Play WTJU.”
