Interview: Pamunkey American Indian Tribe Receives Federal Recognition

Virginia’s Pamunkey Indians recently won federal recognition; they are the first American Indian tribe in Virginia to do so. Leah Esslinger spoke with the tribe’s Assistant Chief, Robert Gray, about what recognition means in the Pamunkey people.
