WXTJ 100.1 FM seeks high school DJs this summer
So WTJU actually operates TWO radio stations — the second is WXTJ 100.1 FM, UVA Student Radio. This summer, while most UVA students are away for the summer, WXTJ is inviting local high school students to apply to be summer DJs. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
WXTJ is freeform radio, so students are not bound to just one genre of music. If selected, DJs will be assigned to a 2-hour time slot once a week from June 12 – August 18.
Student hosts will be expected to:
- Show up every week for their 2-hour time slot
- Register any schedule conflicts a week in advance
- Come prepared with 2 hours of music to play
- Follow all FCC, UVA and WTJU/WXTJ rules and guidelines on air
- Provide their own transportation to and from the WXTJ studio at 2244 Ivy Road, Charlottesville
Hands-on training sessions will be provided the week of June 12-16.
