This Friday The Jazz Messenger Show will feature your host Brian Keena teaming up with Charlie Curtis, former longtime host of the Straight No Chaser program. They will be presenting their second installment of their Miles Davis Retrospective, featuring his Prestige Records era with Red Garland and John Coltrane. These are the “contractual obligation” releases which preceded his move to Columbia records.
Featured will be great sides from The Miles Davis Quintet as well as a rare 1953 recording with both Charlie Parker and Sonny Rollins on tenor sax.
