Rum Cove’s 45 RPM Label History: UNI Records

By Rum Cove

This series is designed to give you a visual representation of the many labels that The Rum Cove features on his long running Soulful Situation broadcast.

UNI Records (short for Universal City) was a subsidiary of MCA and was started in 1966 as a pop label with artists such as Elton John and Neil Diamond but also had a smattering of R&B artists. This sleeve was used between 1967 and 1972.
