Central Virginia act The Pollocks will host a listening party this Saturday night with Terri Allard on hand to ask questions of the band, and as a special treat WTJU will air part of it during Gather ‘Round.

Some bands are built. The Pollocks were inevitable.

THE POLLOCKS bring something rare to every stage they step on: genuine history, serious craft, and a sound that the press has compared to Tom Petty, Drive-By Truckers, and Wilco.

Out of the Blue Ridge foothills of Batesville, Virginia, the band was formed in 2008 by Jason Pollock, founding member and chief songwriter of multi-platinum 90s rock band Seven Mary Three, and has held a monthly residency at The Batesville Market ever since. Their lead single “Summer of Love,” the first release from their upcoming full-length album Love You, is streaming everywhere now. Pencil Storm, which heard the record in advance, gave the album ten out of ten stars.
