Gather ‘Round each Saturday night from 8-9 for WTJU Folk‘s concert series; both archived and live. There will be shows from The Prism Coffeehouse and VA Folklife archives mixed in with some from our announcers’ own libraries. And you never know when a live concert might pop up! This week’s concert features John Doyle at C’Ville Coffee from a Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS) concert back in 2012.
Speaking of BRIMS and John Doyle, John returns to C’Ville Coffee this Wednesday, September 10, for a BRIMS sponsored concert with Nuala Kennedy and Eamon O’Leary. Calling themselves The ALT, this stellar trio bring stellar harmony singing, exquisite musicianship and arrangements, They have each dedicated many years delving into the treasure trove of traditional Irish, Scottish and English song with some American pieces thrown in for good measure. Each member of The ALT is an instrumentalist and singer of the highest caliber – together the alchemy is peerless.
