Walker's Run

In the late nineties/early twenty-first century, Walker’s Run developed a large and loyal following in Virginia for their fiery Rockbridge County mountain-music. Walking the line between tradition and exploration, the group packed major venues and sold thousands of copies of its debut CD before taking a long-term hiatus in 2002, when founding member Brennan Gilmore headed overseas. Since then, the band members have all continued musical explorations of diverse stripes: from experimental rock fusion to collaborations with West and North African musicians to producing widely-acclaimed bluegrass records. Now they're all back in the same time zone and every once in a while get together to relive the halcyion days and if you're still reading this you are something special.

This Sunday is one of those special occasions, as the members of Walker's Run reunite for a live appearance on Tell Us A Tale. In addition to some great live tunes and conversation, they will discuss their involvement in a benefit concert at the Gravity Lounge in Charlottesville. Joining them for the benefit will be the musical stylings of Morwenna Lasko and Jay Pun, and singer/songwriter Carleigh Nesbit.
