MINDS WIDE OPEN: U.Va Celebrates Women in the Arts is part of the state-wide MINDS WIDE OPEN (MWO) celebration designed to pay tribute to legendary female artists of the past and to celebrate the work of women artists today. The University of Virginia MINDS WIDE OPEN event is the only student-initiated MWO event, one of the largest MWO events in Central Virginia, and involves collaboration from over 25 University groups and nearly 100 students.  Join us as we commemorate the 40th anniversary of women attending UVa by honoring the contributions of legendary female artists, and the incredible talents of women at the University today. Performances include Jazz, A Cappella, Dance, Theater, Poetry, and Vocals, as well as a gallery display featuring the art of undergraduate student artists and Albemarle County 4th Grade Girls.
