Marietta McCarty

Local author and philosopher Marietta McCarty will be live in the studio with Brian Keena on Friday, February 19, as we discuss and listen to selected songs featured in her new book, “How Philosophy Can Save Your Life: 10 Ideas That Matter Most.”

McCarty, bestselling author of “Little Big Minds,” will share how jazz classics such as Charlie Parker’s “Now’s The Time” or Miles Davis’ “So What” relate to themes in philosophy such as “flexibility” and “possibility,” and how music allows one to forge a deeper and more practical understanding of these ideas.
