Atlantic Weekly at City Market

Saturday, April 27, 2013

8 am to Noon (edt)

We are delighted to announce Atlantic Weekly returns to the Charlottesville City Market this Saturday, April 27, and will be there each fourth Saturday of the month all season long.  There will be live music with both Tommy Proutt and Yankee Dixie, interviews with some of the merchants, and of course the great music from both sides of the Atlantic you hear every Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm., So stop by and say hello!

Tommy Proutt grew up around music, watching his father, Tom Proutt, play with several groups over the years.  Tommy will next perform in the area on April 30 when he plays at the Blue Moon Diner in Charlottesville.

Yankee Dixie combines the soulful Folk & Bluegrass roots of Tara Mills, the driving Punk & Country style of John Howard, and the rock and roll edge of Turtle Zwadlo to create a truly unique and original sound mixing modern day Americana, Folk & Bluegrass.  Yankee Dixie will be opening for Tift Merritt later that evening at the Capital Ale House in Richmond.  On Sunday, April 28, they will performing at the Mountain Cove Music Festival  down in Nelson County, VA.  We will be giving away tickets to this festival that day at the City Market, so don't miss your chance to pick up a pair!
