The Virginia Guitar Festival is a fingerstyle guitar competition for University of Virginia students and non-UVA students, which we be held at the Eunoia building on April 23rd from 4-8:30 pm. The Festival will also feature performances by two nationally recognized fingerstyle guitar players Trace Bundy, Sandra Bae, and Jordan Bryson. This is the first event of its kind.
Hong Mun Tong, creator and organizer of the Virginia Guitar Festival will be speaking with La Belle Musique host Patrick Fitzsimmons about the event, its influences, and the style of guitar-playing it hopes to revive in Charlottesville and, eventually, around the country. Those who wish to participate in the competition can register or find out more about the event itself.
Admission is free and open to the public.

Patrick Fitzsimmons will be interviewing Hong Mun Tong at 7am on Tuesday April 12th. The show will also feature compositions written for classical guitar played in finger style.
