Hilary Hahn

Hilary Hahn is a world-class violinist who was born in 1980 in Lexington VA and studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in Baltimore. Her first full recital was at age 6 and first major concert appearance was at age 12.

She will appear with pianist Valentina Lisitsa at the Paramount Theater on October 19. The program includes works by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Also included in part is the premier by individual composers of short pieces especially commissioned for Hahn’s upcoming recording, "In 27 Pieces – Hilary Hahn Encores".

WTJU's John Delehanty recently interviewed Hilary Hahn. She discussed her active electronic media efforts, musical collaborations, and musical influences. Hilary also discussed how her Encore recording came to be and what we can expect to hear at her performance at the Paramount.
