Join Us At Floyd Fest!

WTJU is Going to Floyd Fest 11

Want to Join Us?

To celebrate the new WTJU schedule, our friends in the Folk department will be giving away 10 four day passes to this year's Floyd Fest.  So be sure and tune in from 4-6 pm for the new Monday through Friday Folk & Roots programming next week for your chance to win a four day pass to Floyd fest 11!

Back Up and Push (Monday)

Every Monday afternoon from 4-6 pm Sandy and Annette look back at Bluegrass and Old Time tunes of yesteryear, and push forward to the music of today and tomorrow. Along with traditional Bluegrass and Old Time, we’ll throw in some Folk, Local Favorites, plenty of Live In-studio performances, and the latest news of festivals and other venues for live music. So buckle up for the ride on Monday afternoons from 4-6 with the best picking and strumming around on Back Up and Push!

Around This Town (Tuesday)

Join Sabra and Pinetops Stephen on Tuesdays from 4-6 pm as they throw their musical nets over the acts coming to the Central VA area, and try and pull some of them in for live appearances before their concerts. They will also share some of the new releases that have come in to the station.

Cosmic American Jamboree (Wednesday)

Country and Americana hot off the griddle.... the newest, best releases and guest appearances from artists without Spandex, plastic surgery, pitch correction or fear of alienating key demographic markets. Pull up to the bar while your new friends pour you two hours of pure country and Americana comfort.

Folk & Beyond (Thursday)

The title says it all.

Sunset Road (Friday)

Hear the full range of musical traditions in folk, bluegrass, new grass, celtic, old time, country, singer/songwriter, blues, world and any other roots-based music. Pete or Terry bring you the old and the new, be it local, regional, national, or international, with an emphasis on who's coming to perform around Charlottesville and Virginia.
